Oh ok, I own up, no idea what a 2 bed mini villa is like. Heard very good reports about the Ship Inn in the past and have eaten there more than once.

Only ever heard good reports about the ship inn. Eaten and drank plenty there but never stayed there. I don't think you will be disappointed. My only concern was the smokey atmosphere. 1 hour and my eyes are streaming. Always end up looking like a panda after visiting ship inn.

Hi Jaydoh,

I have stayed at the Ship Inn, not in the villas but in the main hotel. I cannot say anything bad about it. It is clean and staff are very friendly, the food is good. It has lovely gardens only one thing spoilt my stay a little, dogs barking all night close by but this could happen anywhere you stay.

Hi Jaydoh,

I have stayed in the Ship Inn three times over the last couple of years and have stayed in the Villa twice. Firstly I will say that we are going again at the beginning of July and will be staying in the villas.

The villas themselves are a bit basic but they are adequate for what you are looking for. They are clean and cleaned most days (6 out of 7 i think) with fresh towels everyday. They are right beside the pool so it is great to be able to walk straight out of your apartment and into the pool.

The staff at the Ship are very friendly and helpful and will only make your visit more enjoyable. The food is excellent in both the restaurant and pool bar and the bar itself is very handy.

Thanks Dash and Rtddci,

It looks very welcoming and I don't think I will be disappointed

Lost my driving licence and so have to have a 'Certificate of Entitlement' faxed over to hire a car. Any good restaurants??

Hi Naas,

About the villas?? What do I need to take??

Are the kitchens adequate?? i.e a kettle, fridge, freezer, microwaves perhaps an iron?? Or am I being ambitious?? Please tell me your findings there and what I may need to bring with me.

Jay,

all of the above are in the villas all you need to take is yourselves. You will have a great time, very relaxing and welcoming. There is a Chinese restaurant across the road which is not bad ,try the deep fried ice cream really great. Some restaurant we have tried and have been good are

The Ambiance

The Stone Grill

Missina

Carpenters

Ezic

All different styles of restaurants close by but not at the harbor

Niazis

Carob

Both at the harbor

In fact we have not had a bad meal in NC yet but have used the forums as a way of getting recommendations for restaurants

When you get there tell Zube and Ramazan that the big gang of Irish said hello and will see them in July.

I would recommend that you pay a visit to the Lemar supermarket (out the front and turn left about 7 /8 minute walk) to stock up on things like booze and water for the apartment you can save yourself a few bob.

Never stayed personally but have had meals there in the past and food was very good. I know of people who have stayed and they've always returned to stay again.

Hi Jaydoh,

Just got back. from The Ship. As usual had a great time. I have stayed there 4 times in the last 18 months. Food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Staff are brilliant and very friendly The mini villas are around the swimming pool and whilst small are adequate. There are tea and coffee making facilities, but it is a bedroom and en suite only. No ironing or food preparation areas.Pool area and gardens beautiful. It is not the best hotel in North Cyprus but I am certain is is the friendliest and is certainly the most popular with the ex pat community

Great place, great price and I am sure that you will have a great time. Give my best to them all, great bunch of people.

Hello all,

Have to echo the sentiments of winyardman, I have known the Ship and it's owners for over 10 years, staying there on numerous occasions and overall it is one of the most friendly and well run small hotels on the Island in my opinion, one of the owners, Taner (Tony) Ozdemir lives in London and will help to organise flights, transfers in fact nothing is too much trouble, he even organised free transfers for ex customers of the hotel when they moved into their own villa - now that's what I call service.

Good luck to them and enjoy yourself Jaydoh, tell JJ (ZUBE) I said he has to look after you

Hi Jaydoh, I have stayed at The Ship Inn many times over the last 3 years, allthough only on a B&B basis, but have found it to be excellent with friendly and helpful staff. Hope you have a great time and do not pay much attention to all the building thats going on in the TRNC.

They can't do that, they've got no beer customers now so have to put up prices to cover costs! Good marketing!!!
