| Burnley manager Owen Coyle has signed a new contract which will keep him at Turf Moor until 2013.
The 42-year-old Scot guided the Clarets into the Premier League through the play-offs last month, but had been linked with the vacant post at Celtic.
Coyle though has committed himself to Burnley by extending his current deal by a further two years.
The former Republic of Ireland player joined Burnley in November 2007 after a successful spell managing St Johnstone.
After helping Burnley avoid relegation in his first season in charge, he earned plaudits during the 2008-09 campaign after guiding them to within minutes of securing a Carling Cup final place.
But despite being regarded as favourite to replace Gordon Strachan at Parkhead, the Paisley-born manager declared his intention to remain with the promotion-winning side. |
