You may have to resort to some Lime jiff being sent over from England like I did. Been here 7 years and have not found limes. I am sure you can get them in the South but I never go there!

yes they are impossible to find here & even in Turkey, I have also tried and no-one here knows what they are, when you describe them they insist you are talking about lemons that haven't ripened...& I could murder a mojito too :0(

Limes are a tropical citrus and only grow here with intense care.

If you are going to attempt to cultivate them here you must wrap the entire tree in polythene during the winter as they will not tolerate any cold weather at all.

Nat, i didnt really know to be honest! Dont know much about it. I thought it was for people who knew each other whereas i have never met anyone on here! What does it involve?

piggy, does it involve a lot of work though, because if there is one thing im good at, its killing plants! My mum has hundreds and almost all of them die when she goes away on holiday! I dont know what goes wrong! I do water them but they just dont like me!!

I have 4 fruit bearing trees and all of them were put in and watered, nothing more. I daresay they will require a little more attention next year but I will worry about then.

Hi piggy,

Can you tell me where you bought your lime tree from, as I would very much like to plant one.

If they don't sell the limes here, I wouldn't have thought you would be able to buy a tree here

or am I wrong?

Hi Clara,

The ones in Lemar were definitely Limes - I made the green lemon mistake before!!! It's the first time I've found them here in 5 years of coming here... I think, perhaps they had them as they were doing a 2 for 1 offer on Corona beer - usually served with lime...

Cheers,

Anna.

There is a mature tree within the ruins belonging to A.T.Wells in Lapta from which I made Lime jam last year. Place is open to poachers until his return in September. Join the other bandits over here and pinch a few!

I bought a lime tree a couple of years ago from Gardens of Babel. It is doing really well this year with lots of fruit on and I certainly haven't been giving it a lot of care apart from the odd drop of water.

Everyone who has admitted having lime trees now is going to be hounded to give us all some for our drinks!! I have noticed that no one wants them for cooking haha! Its all for cocktails and drinks! I do reckon though that these lime tree owners should get themselves down to the market and get selling them! It would seem they are very high in demand!

Nick,

Don't underestimate the power of the lime!! It may not make life perfect but it certainly helps to make blurring the imperfections more pleasurable!

Enjoy your cosmopolitan, Trudy!!

I bought a lime tree last year from Tolga's in Karsiyaka. He only had a few and they were snapped up very quickly. No fruit yet though. I'll ask Tolga if he has any and report back.
