2 lira for a scone aint too bad unless its tiny but i wouldnt pay 10 for a pork pie.

I remember a few years back there was a lady at Pegasus market who made pies and they were fab! She did all sorts, steak, mince, chicken and they were only about 5lira... does anyone happen to know this lady or know of anyone who can make such pies?

I think they have a stall at Lambousa now. There's always a big queue at one of the pasty sellers so they must be good, even if expensive. It's a matter of taste, friends told me the curries on one of the stalls were good value, got one, wish I'd queued for a pie.

Kens pies are very popular and worth trying & queuing for! And they are frozen so you can de-frost and eat when you like!

As I say I used to get the vegetarian one with curry flavouring and veggies & soya meat inside it was so tasty!

Yes, Ken & Shelly (his wife), have a lovely daughter called Sarah.

Have to agree his pies are fab, my fav, being the curry ones.

Also can be found at the Carpenters Market, every Friday.

Hi everyone

I think Westender may have been referring to our scones, plain ones at 1tl, fruit ones at 1.5tl ,cheese ones at 2tl, rock cakes at 1.5tl and apple turnovers at 2.5tl, we feel they are all a good size and reasonably priced. As the ingredients here are more expensive than the UK this would obviously reflect in the price but at the end of the day it is the individuals choice to whether you buy or not. Thank you to all our regulars who buy each week.

Regards Maggymay (dog biscuit lady ).
