| Has anyone been to 'Bo Thai'? Is it good? Does anyone else love Thai food as much as me? I crave it badly! Lots of people doing market research on the area on businesses and franchises etc and just to add my opinion and if I had the money to do it or a business partner to join me in doing so -I think these 2 would work: -a relatively cheap, modern and tranquil Thai cafe/restaurant woud be good to see on the island, with brightly coloured walls, buddhas, maybe an outdoor seating area in a shaded garden, serving fresh crunchy salads and smoothies, Pad Thai noodles etc I think it's the type of food that you can eat in summer or winter as it's not stodgy, some dishes are light & fresh, - also I would like to see more modern relaxed lounge type bars on the beach front like Shayna, open in the evenings with soft music and a beautiful setting overlooking the sea, anyone agree/disagree? | Totally agree NatAless, unfortunately once you have eaten in Thailand its never the same. Not sure if the appropriate ingedients are readily available here. I for one would love to see more upmarket chill out bars/restaurants and yes I adore Thai food. |

Hopefully my daughter-in-law Buhai who is Thai will be here in September or October with our son and grandson. Will need to go on a severe diet for a month before as her cooking is to die for!

This subject has been covered before... Bo Thai is deffo one to avoid - a Neg Nick 2 / 10.... The owner is more miserable than my missus (and that's saying something....) such small portions that Garry Monger's missus ate 4 kebabs on the way home...... Shayla is a diferent kettle of fish - one of the best positions in the Kyrenia area and pretty good tucker - a Neg Nick 9 / 10........

hi nat like you i love thai food but sadly do not get much opportunity to try it.I agree with your comments but as parkview states its the lack of most ingredients here that makes such a difference. see you soon xx

Have to agree with Negativenick - Bo Thai is expensive and tiny portions. Hubby was asking before we left the car park what he could have to eat when we got home! Also doesn't taste like Thai food as owner and missus decided to "invent" to a certain degree mixing the elements of Thai food that THEY like!!!! Have to admit I haven't tried it since they got their Thai chef - stick to making it at home, much cheaper and your own portion control. If you like making your own Thai food highly recommend Vatch's Thai Street Food by Vatcharin Bhumichitr. I got mine from amazon who do deliver to TRNC, it covers all regions of Thailand. I'm growing my own lemongrass from seed I got in UK but you can buy it in jars down south, most other ingredients are available here though

Get daughter-in-law's recipes and put them on here! Have only tasted a Thai soup, at a party given by man celebrating his divorce from Thai wife! He made it himself - hot and delicious, with seafood in. There were a couple of Thai ladies there too. At least he learnt something.

Sorry to disagree- my wife and i were there 2 weeks ago after a year away after the negative comments. There has been a big improvment in my host, we thought the food was good and judging from the popularity of the restaurants so did others- one guy was his 4th night running. The idea of a meze has been abandoned and food portions were fine. The cost however for 3 courses, 2 with wine was 90TL.
