A quick question which I hope someone can resolve today ! When I log on to http://www.turkishbank.net and go to the accounts link I can view our GBP and TL accounts no problem. When I try to move money from the GBP to the TL account it says they have to be in the same currency. I thought I would be able to move money across to cover electric etc. Anyone know what I am doing wrong ? Many Thanks.

Firstly I do not bank with Turk Bank so do not know how their internet banking works but at HSBC you have to sell foreign currency first. You can do this online with HSBC.

You have to choose the button (bottom, if I remember well) Selling/Buying money (to/from the bank). If you sell Sterling, the due amount will show in your TL account.

By the way: it is no longer possible to pay your electricity & phone bill yourself. Turk Bank only accepts "standing orders" now. I've had it with them. Too many times Internet banking is not available and now the service is further handicapped. OK, CreditWest seems a better choice.
