Comments from Nick Griffin regarding the Uk as he addresses his supporters at his victory speech in Blackpool.

Ive been away from the UK for the past 5 years, other than the odd visit. Have things deteriated that bad? What has to be done to put the UK back to rights or has it gone to far down the drain.

Gorden Brown wont win the next election , what have the Tories got to offer to get the UK back on track.

Comments and views appriciated.

I find it strange that the strikers at the Total refinery are well supported for their stance on British jobs for British workers, but when the BNP says the same thing they are classed as racists and fascists!

I, too, find it "strange" - as a UK Citizen that has been able to move freely around the EU taking up work and ignoring the whinges of locals who object to British ( or other EU citizens) offering a services.

First whiff of recession and we get "protectionism" - the very thing most likely to keep us in a recession.

Total are a French Group operating a subsidiary in the UK - I suppose we should "nationalise " them for "daring" to employ other EU nationals?!

Well Nick (msg 6) Somtimes you have to get back in the real world before this make believe one bites you in the ass. When you finish your tour of the Trnc's eating and drinking houses and the Mongers have spent your last Lira on kebabs I'm sure you would like to know whats awaits you back in Blighty. Start looking out of the box yung man.

Dear Dixie,

what awaits is the right of any EU national or non -EU national with the correct status - to be allowed to offer their services to work / set up in business. Many without recourse to public funds - if it goes t*t's up ...

A lot of smart people come to the UK to set up in business as there is still - remarkably - less red tape than most other EU/ EEA nations.

Are you wearing dark specs when you look outta your "box" ?

MMMMMMMM, Like to keep up with the points of view and opinions regarding issues in the UK, like yourself have traveled about a bit and have seen the good and bad points from places Ive visited. Changes have taken place in the Uk which alot of expats are no longer aware of, mostly I believe for the worse, some folk can bimble along totaly blind to the issues arround them, I may have the dark glasses on but my eyes are wide open behind them, and what I see regarding the EU is somthing I would prefer to stay well away from.

Have a nice day.

BTW Dixie

"back in Blighty" in Doncaster we now have a new mayor.. he is disappointed that folk living there 40 years or more can't speak English .. I wonder how many ex-pats in Cyprus will be speaking Turkish or Greek ? ;)

MMMMMM, Regarding language if there is a need to be understood in a country learning the lingo is a must,I dont believe that to be the case in NC as english is widly spoken as it is seen as a tool for an earner.

The UK bends over backwards to accommodate non english speakers, just walk in to the local Council and see the array of forms in different languages and access to interpreters if required, never seen this service in NC or the South, I would agree with the Mayor, but at least those who have difficulty with the english are given a helping hand.

Dear Dixie re 10

I think I've "gotcha", now - please be *specific* about what EU Directive(s) / procedures have suddenly - or in the near past - changed life in the UK... as to be detrimental

re msg 12

Language - "gotcha" there, too ;)

The RoC officially have to produce their stuff in both GR and TR - but it is also quite normal to be billed / written to in English - I don't think I can have my Electric bills in Turkish or Greek in the UK ;)

Re language skills - do you HAVE to speak Turkish / ( or Greek) to obtain "citizenship of "TRNC" ? You certainly DO have to know English - or pass a knowledge of the UK test to get UK citizenship !

You are QUITE wrong about the "south" - I've defended myself in Court ( and had a free interpreter) and during my bust up with the RoC immigration with my wife - they always responded in English - which is NOT an official language of the state.

cont re 14

If you agree with the Mayor of Doncaster - which I WOULD have done - before my travels and living in Cyprus - I did try to learn Greek and Turkish btw... I wonder - again - why you think it is not so important for UK expats to learn the local lingo..

WHAT is the difference?

re 13 Dusterbruce

>>You didnt answer my question.<<

Oh but I did.. did you miss the irony ? ! OK - I'll make it simple.. I don't see the difference..
