You can buy fabric dye in the haberdashery department in Debenhams on Ledra street. If your dress is 100% cotton you should have no problem dyeing it. However, sometimes the thread used to sew the garment is not cotton and often dyes a different colour or not at all. It's a simple procedure using the 40deg. setting on the washing machine, without a pre-wash,of course. Good Luck

Thanks Ailletoo, so would I put the dye where I normally put the washing liquid? I thought I should do it in a basin or something... lol HappyBoots, I couldn't I love the dress! except that it's white and brand new but haven't worn it out yet as for some silly reason the back doesn't have the same design as the front and the back is completely transparent showing my bra straps and knickers! Was hoping by dyeing it this will be less obvious!

They sell dye in Deniz Plaza, in Girne on the main road. They sell it on the top floor, not always lots of colours though. It's not the washing machine dye, it's boil on the hob type, but I have dyed a dress and shorts red and jeans black, a bikini purple, all turned out really well and instructions are in English.
