It is true that there are no electricity meters on the island at the moment.

Some builders are making arrangements with Kibtek for a temporary connection.

Can you ask your builder to advise you on this?

Or your advocate, because in your sales agreement there could be a clause that you make your final payment on completion - and completion is when everything is finished including the electricity supply.

Some people on this forum were paying only about 180YTL for the connection last year when meters were available.

A few have mentioned £250-£500.

If the electricity has to be brought to your house from somewhere else it could cost about £3000.

Does anyone else have more specific information?? Especially in relation to a temporary connection?

We will be on temp electric at a cost of 115ytl per month.

Developers say we may get our meter in April.

Have also been told meter connection 180ytl if you have a guarantor. 540ytl if you dont.!!!!!

Has anyone else heard this.

Taken to Kibtek by our builder on 7/2/08. Paid 180 ytl which we presumed was for metre connection. Electricity now in our name. Told when discusssing purchase that the cost for all connections/transformer to each apartment would be £800 each between 12 apartments. This is what it turned out to be.
