| How much water would a balance tank hold in tons if it messured 7ft x 5ft x 6ft 8inchs in depth. Thanks. |

| Multiply the 3 figs you quote and then convert into cubic metres and the result is the tonnage of water in the balance tank, simple. |

| I agree with msg 4 7 x 5 x 6.667 feet = 233.334 5 cubic feet = 6.607 cubic meter If you fill it to the very top, then some will be wasted down the overflow - ideally you should measure the height to the bottom of the overflow pipe... And even then you could lose half a ton if someone jumps in and makes a 'tidal wave'! Keith. |

| Some pools, such as the one we had, didn't have an overflow. Once the tank was full the guttering around the pool would then fill up, the flood the pool before flowing onto the garden. That happened a couple of times in winter when the rainfall was continuous. A few other times we had to backwash to remove excess from the balance tank. It's hust a pity we had nowhere else to store that water! |
