Came back form TRNC two weeks ago and the mossie bites I got on my leg are still annoying me. I'm coming out again in a few weeks and I need to know:-what's the best way to avoid being bitten?

Skin so soft? Mossie nets? Insect screens? Ceiling fans? Mossie zappers?

I have heard they like"sweet blood". What on earth is that ? I know I'm a sweet thing but I would do anything not to get bitten again.

All views and recommendations will be greatfully appreciated!

Hi Mixie

We have just bought something that you plug in to a socket and it works miracles! Not seen one mossie since we bought it! I`ll have a look at the name tonight and let you know.

Eat Marmite, Spray yourself with a mossie spray known as OFF has loads of D.E.E.T in it, get a mossie net, get drunk, live in a top floor apartment, use fans in the rooms and not A/C units, or as a last resort holiday or move to Iceland!

Hi Mixie

Start taking Vitimin B COMPLEX every day from now and bring out Jungle Formula spray and use this every evening. You will still get bitten but won't react to the bites ie. they won't itch and scab over. Good idea to just keep taking the Vitimin B complex all year round if you come over to NC on a regular basis.

Also put AC on 10 mins before you go to bed as the little blighters hate the cold and spray the room befor that.

It is nothing at all to do with your blood type truth is nobody knows why they bite some people and not others.

Good Luck and have a good holiday this time.

Hi Mixie. Have you tried biting them first? Seriously though, years ago in UK whenever I went on a walk in the country I used to spray myself with something called "JUNGLE JUICE" which you used to be able to get from the "Outdoor" shops (walkers shops). It was very effective. See if they still sell it. Good luck
