After much consideration and advice from forum I have decided to drive from Paphos (because I am staying there for a while as well) and leave my hire car south side. (3rd part insurance cover doesn't do it for me).

My questions are where after passing the Coke factory and approaching the border can I park ? Also what is this border called ? Also should I pre-arrange a taxi to meet me there on the South side or can I walk over and easily pick up a taxi that way ?

Again, advice appreciated.

They really don't like foot passengers to cross at Metahan (the main car crossing), so it's better to use the Ledra Palace crossing. Parking can be difficult "on road" and you may have to use the "pay and display" car park close by.

After crossing at Ledra Palace a taxi rank is the first thing you see. All taxis have meters and ensure he uses it. Don't try an negotiate a price (although the driver will try his damdest), it's likely to be more than the meter.
