Parents of my friend sold a land in the south near Larnaca. They have been waiting for 15 months. Her parents are not well. She has complained to the Cyprus Consulate and they advised her that the Turkish Guardian of Properties are the final stage of making their decision. There is nothing outstanding with their case. They have signed an official contract with the buyers. They are British Citizen and have been living in England sincer 1972. My friend is thinking of taking the case to European Court. I would welcome for an advice from the people who may have had similar experience. Thank you

In the last couple of weeks one of the papers here reported a case where a London based Cypriot (since before 1960) won a case in the ROC to get there property returned after being denied return by the Guardian Board. From memory this was on the basis that he was not counted as a Turkish Cypriot because of the length of time he lived in the UK and never took TRNC residency etc.
