I managed to get a virus (SKYNET) despite running AVG Professional 8. It did a lot of damage to my system which became completely unusable.

I took it to Com Aks in Girne at 11:00 on Saturday. It was ready at 18:30 the same day. They had removed the virus, repaired the damage, re-installed damaged software (including Skype, Firefox, Nero, Turkcell 3G etc.), upgraded me to a new Anti-Virus program, updated my MS Office Professional from 2003 to 2007, preserved and restored all my data including 20gb of music I have collected over many years.

They charged me US$30 (48tl).



NOT EVERYTHING IN TRNC IS EXPENSIVE OR CRAP!!!



And before mmmmm has a go at me - yes I know that the MS Office is ripped-off but I don't care. The embargo increases my cost of living enough, so the non-enforcement of piracy regulations is a small and welcome compensation.

At the main roundabout (Girne/Lefkosa/Catalkoy/Lapta), head for Lapta/Karsiyaka and it is on your right after 250 metres approx. next to Mr. Pound and opposite the Mercedes dealership.
