The Place - Veni Vichi Italian restaurant, Lapta.

Those present - Me, my ever cheerful missus, Garry Monger, Garry Monger's Missus, Garry Monger's mate Archie, Archie's Missus...

Comments - One hell of a run from Esentepe - Archie was convinced we would drive off the edge of the world.....

Lovely place, exceptional staff and a really nice ambiance....

Tucker - Definately worth the drive, top tucker - a really good dining experience.

The high's - The tucker and the exceptional service made this a lovely night out....

The lows - Garry Monger's Missus singing at the top of her voice "just one cornetto, give it to me, could somone please show me the way to the lavatreeeee".

Having the hell pestered out of my by Archie and Mrs M to stop at Gulen kebab on the way home...

Overall - Well worth the drive - a Neg Nick 9 / 10

Nick, you sure get about on your travels. Doesn't Gary Mongers missus ever pass out in the back of your transit van- it must get really hot in there.

From my experience and in my tum's opinion not a patch on Guido's. (Though it may have improved since I ate there.)

But if GM's Misus likes it I am not a sumo so will not say more as I would lose out on the rematch.

I've had two meals there and wouldn't go back. First one was unmemorable but second one was awful. Everything was over salted, even roast potatoes. We did send them back and got another lot but they were much the same. Staff didn't really seem to care.

Must agree with Kibris.....nothing particularly wrong with it but would only rate it average.

Seems to be more style than substance.

Tried it, tasted it and won't go back. Over salted, the meat cooked in packet soup powder (not quite dissolved) and the staff couldn't give a monkey`s. Not cheap either.

I think NegativeNick and the Mongers deserve a commendation for single handedly keeping the TRNC restaurant / bar market etc afloat. Who said resident ex pats didn't dine out much ?

Perhaps we could start a list of places left for you to review.
