as said above, coming out to the hideaway club in 2 weeks time and my husband and i are trying to work out roughly how much money we will need to take with us. From what I gather, 80 lira should be eoungh per day for food? does this sound right? breakfast is provided at hotel so just evening meals. The main question we have is how much is it roughly for drinks? ie how much is a beer, a cocktail, a glass of wine and a bottle of water? many thanks

Mrs S.....do not forget about car hire....for about £17 per day inc ins...... Your 80 lira will be more than enough....unless you are BIG drinkers....if you include 3/4 EFES per day..it will still be enough...unless your hotel is expensive? please note...this is based on eating out...Hotel drinks /prices can be on the high side ( a good meal out with a couple of drinks is between 40 - 45 lira ...with change )

thanks for the replies. we were thinking to take roughly 140lira per day for food and activites etc. So from what you have said, this should eb enough. We have car hire booked already, so just be for a few boat trips etc. I would think a few nights out of teh holiday there will be lots of alcohol consumed but most nights just one or two. I e-mailed the hotel regarding their drinks prices but havent heard back yet, the cost of their food seems very reasonable. Having a heatwave here just now, its crazy. Got a lovely base tan ready for our trip!! Cant wait, only 12 to go!!!

mrs.sab. I don't think 80ytl per day is enough for food. You could spend that on a decent lunch.

arrry. I know what you mean that you can eat cheaply at the local restaurants but even so 80ytl for two people for lunch and dinner I don't think it can be done. Some people call a toasted cheese sandwich Lunch - I would'nt, I'd call that a snack. If you want to have a toasted cheese sandwich with a bit of lettuce on the side and call that Lunch then fair enough you can eat for a lot less than 80ytl.
