there is a phone office opposite the law courts in girne where we pay our bill, you could try there. as for current costs i'm not sure as we got ours a long time ago and tc friends got it sorted for us. you may need to go to the big office in lefkosa, but i would try girne first as they speak better english!

I filled in the appropriate forms when I applied over 3 years ago and I,m still waiting, maybe in your area you might have better luck, although I have the GAU Residency behind me and they are connected, they tell me they have no more lines here sheila

smithy is right, at the moment you can only get a phone line if there is space for you on the closest pole to your home. if there is space it shouldn't take that long, take a tc friend to the office with you, that should speed it up a bit!

smithy, with most things in TRNC, if you fill out a form, and then just 'leave it with them', you'll NEVER hear anything, ever again. Whether it's your Avukat, the Plumber, PTP Office, or the Phone dept, CALL IN and talk to them at least once a week. Make yourself known, joke with 'em, nag'em, flutter your eyelashes, whatever it takes - because if you don't, someone else sure as hell is doing just that, and getting attended to before you. Don't telephone or email - they'll tell you a pack of lies over the phone, just to shut you up, and forget about you the instant that they put the phone down (or at least the instant someone comes though their door, eyelashes all a-quiver). Almost no-one on this Island answers emails (well ok, maybe 0.5%), particularly if all they've got is no news or bad news - so it's just a complete waste of time. I've seen so many posts that say 'I emailed them last year, and I'm still waiting for a reply'... Get yourself round there! Keith.

We got one within 10 minutes of entering the office in Girne, we live in Lapta. It may help if you get someone who knows someone to help you, my mother did this and had no wait either.
