Went up there today as promised. Defo need a 4x4 to get there but a nice buch of guys. They're drilling down to 300m and have so far reached 105m (at 10 this morning). Had a good chat with the guy fom KKTC Mining and Geology and he reckons that a month or so will see them at the target. There's 50-60 tonnes of water per day in the reservoir and after the initial drill they'll need to put down a bigger bit to widen the bore. Lovely bunch of blokes. most have good english and would welcome any casual visitors. They're working up there 24/7 and I'm sure the occasional passer by with a basket of fruit or similar would be welcomed!. A very interesting site to visit. Even if you're not a geologist etc! When I can get the images on flickr I'll post the link. S

S . That seems like an awful lot of work for 50, or 60 ton of water per day,but every little helps. Bob.

Just a point - given that the baspinar spring gives about .5m tonnes of water a year, I suspect that the site geologist meant 60 tonnes an HOUR. Seems much more likely to me. S

Numpty - you need to take the track that runs above the flags and follow it until you find a sharp left turn (right turn if you're coming from Karsiyaka). Follow it and theres another left turn to take. You'll now be on the track up to the site. Where are you coming from?
