Clarets, I've not looked at the Zamam article but I suspect that there is a slightly higher chance of North Cyprus moving as an island to the coast of NSW overnight tonight.

I draw your attention to the second paragraph and in particular the words "if international aviation regulations allow it." As international regulations don't allow it, then it's not likely to happen. But I suppose it gave afew column inches and a Blair was making all the right noises until you read EXACTLY what he said by "if international aviation regulations allow it."

Poor CyChilli re 22 "north CY prices expected to double over the next three years..." Did anyone watch the prog on ITV where that nice TC man with the RRover told us prices would go up 4 times... Where WAS that development...? Oh yes.. AGA.. I expect the Kyrenia / Girne by-pass will be completed and there'll be a pipe bringing water from the Taurus Mountains and 2016 Olympic Games will be in Disney World Cyprus....

Sold two resales here in the last four years and some of that monies doing very nicely with ytl interest rate thanks. Many people like to purchase a property that is completed and furnished. Portfolio therefore still grows and cash in the bank, a couple in uk, one in eire and two on cape verde. North Cyprus is a great place to invest and glad to see more following suit and bagging a bargain. Who would of said there would be so much achievement on the coast road only five years ago and a top class golf course to boot. I do read, lots but in this game i prefer to visit, pick and choose. And there is so .... much to choose from ..... mmmmmmm ..... you wont be disapointed.

Dear Clarets, re msg 25 >>I know its an old link..[MM: hmm, NOW, you do !] ......but it woke you lot up<< I reckon Direct flights being "days" away" are as likely as Leeds winning a case at the ECHR to get a place back in the Premiereship !

Hi Mark,Leeds Utd,ECHR and Premiership are not phrases/words that I would associate with the same sentence at the moment. Direct/un-broken flights may be on the menu again soon !

I sincerely hope so......after all, there are direct flights to other "unrecognised states" and the OIC has given TRNC the status of constituent state. There are direct flights from at least one former Soviet Block country and Gambia is also currently considering this.

Dear Iain, re msg 30 I seem to remember a big fuss over "direct" flights from Azerbaijan starting - back in 2004 - may be AJ can tell us if they still work.. I used to meet Uzbek and Kazak students who had to fly from their homeland via Istanbul to get to "TRNC".. ( that was only up to a year ago) I wasn't aware the OIC had a higher "mortal/ legal" status than the UN.. re "recognition" of a state..!
