Has anybody else had the same problem?

Meta shop in Girne was recommended to us by our neighbours, as they had paid £150 to get a box with 28 tv channels on, installed in their apartment

We went to the shop and the lady, who was very helpful, suggested that we opt for the £400 package, which came with 2 dishes and had hundreds of channels in english to choose from.

Because there was access to lots more sports channels, and premiership matches as part of the package, my husband opted for the dearer option.

She did say, that at some time in the future, some of the channels may be scrambled and we may have to pay extra for what we had, even a monthly payment, but there was nothing to worry about for the forseeable future.

Lo and behold, not 3 weeks later, all but a few channels are scrambled and the shop now wants an extra £50 to put a new dish up to solve the problem.

We feel cheated!!

You were!

But we live and learn don't we. Unless something is above board and actually being paid for, then the chances of something changing in the package you have bought is very high.

Maybe just stick to Digiturk. You pay your money, you know what you get.

i have to agree with Mess 2 - these are illegal systems, and unfortunately it isn't Metasat's problem when channels get scrambled...

Personally have used Metasat twice (once for 4.2m dish and second for Hotbird dish), have been very pleased with the service / prices, so have the few mates i have reccomended them to.......

When you are asked for a one off payment with no monthly installments, why should they bother to update you when they are not getting paid, never never never go for a system that doesn't charge for continued content.

Re message 8 we have been using a one-off payment system (D-Smart) for the last 2 years with no problems whatsoever and no loss of channels.

I have also had my system from Meta for the last 6 years, it uses Nilesat and I have around 15 english channels & no need for any code changes at all, leave the house for 10 weeks, switch on & hey presto, so I have no gripe with Meta. Just paid a one off payment at the time.

Found Digiturk far too expensive especially when we only use it 3-4 months of the year. When I lost the signal earlier this year they wanted money (£50 if I remember rightly) to come and look at it and more to replace the aerial if it needed replacing. Kicked them into touch as it was near renewal time. Prefer to rent DVD's and/or bring all those that I have been meaning to watch.
