What can you do if the house next door is empty ( not occupied) but the swimming pool is full and it has loads of flies / mossies etc. Can you call the local authority's and ask them to come and clean it or empty the pool. Or is there other things you are allowed to do!!. Thanks for your help

Pour some petrol over the pool and set fire to it. That'll teach the mossies! Richard

Can you not get in touch with the person who owns the property first and let him/she know...there may be reason why they can't come out.... DD

Our pool is green and smelly too, but that's because we have no electric on site. Hopefully when we return in September we will have electric and be able to sort it then. Vicki

Because of the mozzie problem, I think people are fined quite heavily when they allow stagnant water on their property. I would call the Belediye as soon as possible.

Thank you for your reply's. Dont know the neighbours since one of the villa's is always locked up and the other has not yet been completed and there is no sign of who the builder is. Will call the local Belediys a.s.a.p. before the husband set's fire to the lot, which I am sure he would like to do.

Diesel is better - 1 gallon did a 10 x 5 pool near us with a massive amount of mossies. All dead in a couple of hours.

You're not actually going to set fire to somebodys pool are you????? Can't you just chuck some chlorine in it...or ask the belediyesi to empty it?? Imagine if the person who lives there has had some sort of accident and is unable to come out? DD

DD- you dont set fire to it! It forms a film across the surface and the dear little mozzies cant breath. Shame for the useless little b's ! If the pool is green anyway then the owner is going to have to get it cleaned anyway, diesel or no diesel. Very quick way of deaeling with the problem.
