Thanks for all your replies, some taken on board others of the more sarcastic variety binned. I now have paid a deposit on a site on the road to Bellapais. Bought from a tall, ginger haired, shortsighted agent who shall remain nameless. Talked to and quite happy with a builder who seems to be from the Antipides, judging bay his name.

I have a price and a date to start building, will now apply for permissions. Judging by some of the clowns who got in I should have no problem.

Next: I want to buy a car. I have been offered a Pajero 1997 reg (TRNC) 1994 Japan. 7 seater, 2.8 diesel and appears in good order and drives well. Price £8250 - rip off in UK but TRNC prices seem at least 3 times UK.

It is local registered, can I get insurance to drive to UK for 6 months and then back to TRNC - quite fancy the trip.

Any way leave you all to your squabbling. Maybe even get to know some of you in time.

If its on TRNC plates from what I have read you wont get past Turkey because of the TRNC plates are not recognised

it would be cheaper buying a cheap UK car under 3 years when it arrives in the TRNC low cc and driving back to TRNC
