Many decades ago Cyprus was awash with fortified wine but for the life of me cannot find plonk port for cooking. Any suggestions please.

Have you tried Bells in Karaoglanoglu? They normally have it in though it may be English port.

You can get Emva Sherry - you remember PROPER (Cyprus!) SHERRY, as in Emva Cream...

Perhaps someone who lives in Catalkoy direction might know if the Wine Merchant near Supreme supermarket stock it.

Thanks all, to date, but need port not sherry. Easy to source imported but what a waste and expense for cooking!

Sorry,

Bit of bad Grammar there, I should have said "Perhaps someone who lives in Catalkoy direction might know if the Wine Merchant near Supreme supermarket stock PORT."!

Bells had port when last visited. Some other supermarkets too. For instance Tempo.

Bye the bye "happyhere" Port has to be from Porto in Portugal. No such thing as English Port although many of the Port lodges are British owned.

Port here and in the south is expensive and best brought over duty free.
