Hi As requested, we transferred the necessary funds to our Lawyer over three weeks ago, so he as our POA could register our contract and pay necessary Stamp Duty on our behalf. Emailed him advising him the transfer had been completed and in return, asked him to confirm when cash received. Not heard a thing in spite of several emails and attempted telephone calls from us in UK. Still waiting for a response. Has anyone's Lawyer actually confirmed receipt of transferred funds and that registration of contract completed and stamp duty paid? Many thanks Julie

Hi Julie I also transferred funds and poa form to our solicitor last week, and received an email from him saying he received both, and is now proceeding with the stamping and registering of our contract. Its very worrying when your dealing with someone who is so far away, I hope you hear soon. Theresa

| Thanks Theresa, Am glad that you heard so quickly, it makes all the difference when so far away. Have just phoned Lawyer again and been told he's in a meeting and will phone me back......same response as last week......I too have many clients and work within the public sector, I go to great lengths to respond to their contacts, OR get someone to respond on my behalf.....even more so now, as I know how bad it feels just to be ignored. | We send our lawyer (Gurkan and Gurkan) the stamp duty and fee to register our contract (they already had POA). Within 3 days the contract was stamped, fees paid and the contract registered with land registry and form N34A received. Lawyer scanned copies of all with receipts and emailed us - are we just lucky with our lawyer ?? |

Hi Perry, Really pleased for you and the excellent service you had from G&G. This is what we had expected from our Lawyer who has been our POA since 2004. Should have been straight forward; such a disappointing differece in service delivery and customer care. J

Hi, Got reply back from ours confirming stamp duty paid and registered with Land Registry, also confirmed no mortgages or impediments on the land. Such a relief. I am pleased to be able to tell you this because our Lawyer is 'Munir Akil' and I have seen the many bad messages about him.

Hi Cyprus 8 Glad to hear all is OK re your stamp duty/land registry etc and that your Lawyer got back to you so quickly. No such luck with ours, BUT we have established contact once again. Hoping to have positive feedback from him on Monday that our Stamp Duty has been paid and Registration completed. I'll keep you all posted. Julie

Hi, I sent off necessary monies to our lawyer-Naomi Mehmet approx 4 weeks ago, finally received word two weeks later that she has received the money, even though it was sent as urgent transfer, but still no news yet of stamp duty/land registry, even though I have e-mailed her on several occasions!!
