Looking to buy a phone here, just wondering what people have paid in the past for a decent one. Average prices of a decent phone etc.

OK, then I think those more familiar with the back street operators in Girne will soon be along to help, there are a few places that do it I believe. guin

A second thought. If you foresee frequent visits to the 'other side' then keep your UK registered phone and sim, cos you can't use your TRNC one over there. So in that case buy a new one for TRNC use. When I go over there I always take the UK phone and my missus keeps the TRNC one, then I can call back and explain why I can't buy so-and-so and get new orders ! Brinsley in answer to your mesg 7 - some need a phone to call their lawyer on a regular (daily?) basis ;o) guin
