When I moved into a penthouse 5 years ago the water pressure was really low. I paid about 400gbp to have a high pressure system fitted. New pump at ground tank, new hot water roof tank, pipes etc. Early this year I had a gas instant hot water system installed. I paid about 100gbp for a 1hp pump to power the system. This is fitted between the coldwater roof tank and boiler. I think a 1/2 hp pump was about 70gbp. ps It might have been 100tl not 100gbp.

This could simply be an air lock in the system, what you can do about this is run a tap and stick your finger in side so the water doesn't come out, keep it going for about 5 minutes, this normally sorts out an air lock.

Message 1 I fitted a pressure pump but only to the cold water system coming from the underground tanks, have a gravity system fitted it so I could change from the gravity system to the pressure system( only cold water)for eg watering the garden so to say as a reserve just in case I have problems with the tank on the roof. But you have to be carefull with more pressure make sure your pipeing was correctly fitted I cannot imagen the plummers test the system with a gravity system under pressure ???only to min bar ..test it first..

If the shower tap is on full for hot water its ok the problem is when you turn the tap down to the cold side its just a trickle.

sounds like a common fault a small blockage or air lock have you been on the roof and made sure the cold valve on the cold tank is fully open another fault can be the taps they normally dont use washers here and if you have the lift and swivel version they sometimes snarlup and the diverter dosnt work properly if you have decent pressure everywhere else then this is probably the case my nos on here if you want to chat about it
