Does anyone know if I can apply for permanent residency with a mixture of Work Permits and Temporary Resident stamps ???? Or do they all have to be one type ???

And is it 5 years before you can apply ???

As far as I know it is 5 years then you can apply, but been told that it is not written in stone that you will get permanent, as they can refuse who they like.

Sorry don't know about the work permit thingy. Try getting in touch with the BRS they might know the answer to this.

Maybe you could visit the immigration office either in Girne police station or in Lefkosa, they should be able to guide you.
