There you are. Some options!

Before you decide, phone Alex (she's lovely and fluent Turkish) on 0533 840 5326

She could help you get 'local' prices.

Any company which offer dual pricing structures should be avoided at all costs as their 'ethics' in good business practice is questionable from the start!

So you will never eat out again, buy or have a car serviced, take a taxi, buy any domestic products, buy any food, have any maintenance done, in fact do anything?

It's reality.

We (British?) may not like it, but it's a fact of life in NC and most other parts of the world.

I tried A-one for first time on last 2 week's visit. I booked on line for 7 days at £18 a day

for a Peugot I was promised. It turned out to be a Fiesta, but not daunted. Ismail then told

me I could not have the £25 pick-up each way unless I hired car for at least 10 days, despite

what was agreed on line. I paid up. Later met an Irishman who had paid 20 euros each way

and 20 euros a day for 7 days! When I asked Ismail about this he just shrugged his shoulders

and said he did not know! I was a first time customer, and was recommending them to my

family coming from Switzerland in Autumn, but not so sure now. Well, his loss too.

Brins, I spent quite a few years as retail manager at a dairy. We didn't have a DUAL pricing structure, we operated a policy of discounting as much as we needed to keep/gain trade. It's how business works, it's not about ethics, it's about running a business.

ps I would have mentioned naivety but not sure of spelling.

You cannot go wrong with Cyprus Pines. Lovely family run business. Nice clean cars.

Nothing too much trouble for Yakup, very pleasant young man to deal with.

As far as I know, all the reputable hire companys are part of the same union and every year they all agree on what the prices will be for the next year. Then they stick to those prices so that they all get a fair shake of the stick - there are more than enough hire cars to go around so nobody will lose.

However, you do need to watch and see what your insurance costs you. If you hire without CDW then you are asking for trouble at the start as you (the tourist) will always find there is a scratch on the car you did not notice when you take it back! I am not saying that all/any car hire companys are bent but there "May" be some that will try to take advantage of you.

Check your car on pick up every time - the same as you would anywhere - and if not happy or you find faults make sure it is put on the contract as well. If the dealer won't make a note of any damage/fault on the contract then find another dealer - simple.
