First Time in Lapta bit of info needed!!

Hi there, we are staying at a friends apartment (Lemon Groves) in Lapta for a week this Sunday 2nd August. Just wanted a bit of info on places to go in the evenings (are they within walking distance or do we need to take car/taxi). Also can you let me know where the best beach is to spend the day?

lemon grove nice and peaceful ,only ten minute walk to "lapta strip" ....probably 10 bars and eating houses.



try the waterfront for a nice meal and chill ,lots will suggest others as well ......if car or small taxi ride you will have many more good restraunts close.



cenap in alsancak (meze traditional),archemenya (traditional cypriot) ,guidos (italian bistro) ,pizza king (pizza diner) .sevenor (cypriot cuisine) ,kervansaray, just a few to go at as lots more will be recommended shortly from board memebers .



beach ,camelot at alsancak ok ,

i prefer escape beach or golden bay 6mile (deniz hotel ).. like horshoe bay for nice quiet day and good beach side meal .

I can't think of any good restaurants in walking distance from you but a few you I would recomend are; Efendi house in the old Turkish quarter. Niazis for a good mix kebab opposite the Dome hotel in Girne. The Veranda in Karogolanoglu, pretty by the sea. Ambience in Karaglanoglu by the sea again, that is supposed to be lovely during the day too, has a pool and nice grass areas for sunbathing. For chinese try the Dragon at the rocks and for Pizza Mani Pennies again in Girne.



Escape beach in Alsancak is very nice, though quite busy. I would recomend the beach at LA Holidays in Lapta, you don't have to be staying there, I think they charge 10tl each, its nice and sandy, has a pool though the restaurant and things a little dated.

Thank you for all the information that is great, we have got a hire car for the duration so we will probably get out and about in it for some evenings but then others take a walk down to the Lapta Strip.

If you walk out of Lemon Grove apts, turn right then 200 meters on your left is a great bar called Aeria bar with a great friendly host called Metin, give it a try.
