also any navigation device with the map of europe will get you all the way to turkey, set it for the shortest route. also consider the ferry from ancona or in italy to cesme. great med cruise and reasonably priced http://www.ankertravel.net/ferry2.asp?service=2 buy a map of turkey either on the ferry or when you enter the turkey and head for tasucu or mersin calais france to ancona = 30 hours including 7 hours rest cesme to tasucu = 28 hours including 10 hours rest note; if you have a navigator type in port of ancona, ancona ferry or harbour and it will take you straight to the ferry.

Rowlo, If you contact Drew at Turtlebay dive centre (Sempati Hotel) he drove here from Peebles with a boat in tow he should be able to give you the best route.

When do you intend to complete this journey. I did this journey last year, would be glad to assist you with the drive, if the dates are suitable. No Charge, I would help with costs etc.

If you do the Ferry to Cesme journey have a couple of days in Cesme if possible, it's a lovely place we holiday there every year, the people there are very friendly and its not an expensve place.

Hi Rowlo, We did the drive last sepember, camping and towing a trailer. Rough route was ferry overnight from Hull to Zeebruge then through belgium, Lux, France, camped first night in France. Second night in Switzerland, ,. If you drive through Switzerland don't forget to get a vignet (roadtax) online before you travel. Third night in Italy, near Cremona. ferry from Ancona to Cesme then along the coast camping near Dalyan and then at Alanya. Worst bit of all was the aweful ferry from Tasucu to Girne. All went well apart from the last Ferry, but there is no alternative. If you want anymore info let me know.
