Dear Kathryn Please contact the TRNC London Representative Office on 0207 631 1920 as the document that is required will be produced by our office or alternatively visit http://www.e-trnc.com and under the heading consulate services click on statutory declaration. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact the consular section on the number provided above. Kind Regards Serap Destegul

Hi Kathryn If you care to write to me at marions@superonline.com I can share with you all I knlow. I have been involved with weddings in a small way for the past couple of years and have learned much of the ropes. There is much Icould share, but not enough space here. Papers can be registered in London; you can have a wedding planner here (one is Carol who has been doing it for years); or you can arrange yourself, or get a hotel to do it. You can have kaymakan and then a church blessing or an ~Exchange of Vows ceremony (I know all about that!) to bring the ceremony into line with British events!; you can do it cheap or you can spend, spend, spend, but the paperwork can be a minefield. As Jayne says, it can be longwinded, but.. So, do write if I can help. As I say, I have learned a lot. You could even go to Teresa for a wedding dress! Lots of people here to help, including me. And what better place to get married!!!???

msg 6 "Might be worth a phone call to the TRNC consulate in London" They're not allowed to call it that! Last time I was on to them they were listed under "Representative's Office".

You are all lucky in UK u have TRNC office or embassy. Im from Poland and I dont have anything like that. I want to get married too with my fiance but nobody really knows what kind of documents we need because my country is not recognizing TRNC...we cant get married in Polish Embassy either so to be honest we dont know what to do...We are planning also wedding next Easter but due to documents and well known bureaucracy in offices among NC looks like our marriagge stands at question mark now... :((((( we dont know if we manage or not....

IngaLill Talk to the TRNC offices in the UK (or Germany) they might be able to assist with the paperwork but I guess you will have to have two notarised sets of papers one Polish to English and one English to Turkish. That is only the start but the paperwork is essential.

Just to let you know that sometimes lawyers can do the 'magic' from here. I know of a couple who gvot wed recently but it cost them £1000, and they were both English and working here, but that could be cheaper than air fares all over the place. And don't forget U.K doesn't 'recognise' TRNC, BUT it IS rec\ognised for marriage, death and divorce, so check again as to what is meant by 'recognise' Good luck with the quest. Don't give up. Maybe a wedding planner here could tell you, but there is info on web pages which you might find helpful. Just google 'weddings in north cyprus' and see what you get.
