Hi Muzz369

unless things have changed over the past 6 - 7 years then you can't open a bank account in TRNC without a signed copy of your Contract for the purchase of your property or if you plan to rent a copy of the Lease.

I think you can open an account with HSBC and also Turkbank in London but couldn't swear to it. I don't think you can open an account on line.

Orangekazzie,

We never had any problem opening an account in the banks we used in the TRNC. The only documentation we had to show was our passport.

Muzz369,

Only Turkbank in London can open you an account that will give you access to your funds in the TRNC. Otherwise it will have to be a trip to the TRNC do it in person. Although the banks have Internet Access they don't open accounts online. The process is straight forward and you will see an English speaking rep.

Can now open a bank account in HSBC in the UK. Look on HSBC international web site or phone them.

They sent me forms which i filled in took them to my local HSBC bank to have them stamped. All i needed was ID and proof of my home address. There is a charge of £100.

You can open an account in NC online with Creditwest, They will send you a international transfer form to fill in to include a copy of your passport. Did it and so have hundreds of others too. Email them , so easy.

Hi

I opened an account with the HSBC in the uk and in Kyrenia ( you need property / address in NC and the uk )

ensure you open an ON-LINE account with both.

You can then transfer money between the accounts for about £7.00..within a couple of hours.

Unless you have a spare £50k...in which case open a PREMIER account with them....all transfers are then free

ps with the on-line account you can exchange your money to ytl / gbp and visa versa on line.

hope this helps

Hi

I opened an account on-line with Credit West - a guy called Nesrin, very helpful. nesrin.argun@creditwestbank.com. Luckily I have a scanner so was able to scan over my passport and he set it all up for me. Its £500 to open an account.

Regards

Jax
