It would appear there are one or two really pissed GC's on the "Dark side" forum.Just read the thead entitled Doctor Death.....its a reet rivetin read ! They appear to lack confidence in my bed side manner and have even threatened my poor lile' ol self with physical violence. Mlitiades appears to be the main aggressor and is "coming for me". I can barely contain my incontinence at the very thought !

Hi clarets, do you have a link onto this other site as I just do not seem to be able to get onto it.

If you are getting threats like that, all I can say is that they are 'running very scared' as when someone starts shouting and making those type of threats its a defence system to not want to face the truth!!

I had several threats of leg breaking, did I like my face, did I value my family, etc, because, I had become quite aggresive in marketing a product into supermarkets and small chain outlets. (1990s)Rise above them, take the p--s, keep your cool and above all keep being yourself.

These GC folks must realise that it was mostly, well all,their own fault, but, time has moved on and they will have to accept that Turkey is the dominant country on most aspects.

PS and I won the contracts!!!

I know that I'll recieve some flack here FS but if that is what you think a nice bloke to be you were sadly missinformed. That is one of the most self opinionated stretch of comments I have ever seen.

I am no historian especially on the details of Cyprus but there is no smoke without fire and regardless of which story you decide to believe both sides were culpable but after reading that load of crap I feel almost guilty for setting foot on someones land and I don't even know who's.

Iain made some strong comments yes but instead of accepting that they are based on past recorded events they decide to threaten his future in UK/NC and his career as well as his families purely because they disagree with his comments.

Nice blokes don't do that and they don't suddenly state, he is not really a doctor in mid dispute and hang up.

I thought people could be bloody minded and rude on this Forum but my heart felt apologies go out to all on here after reading that, that means you DC

Couldn't agree more Chegs, I found some comments to be amusing and others to be blatantly insulting to a whole race of people but the self proclaimed educated posters there seem to believe that they can and should have the only valid opinion. Would make an interesting political team one thinks.

The issue of property is always going to be a thorny one with many Greek Cypriots as they are the biggest loosers so far.



There are many decent Greek Cypriots and well as decent Turkish Cypriots lets not forget this. No doubt inevitably there will be some ordinary Greek Cypriots who will have lost there land in the North once a settlement whatever that is has been agreed. I for one dont think it is appropriate and in fact is very arrogant for some individuals not to respect what has happened to many ordinary Cypriot citizens of whatever ethnic background they come from.



It is lunacy and very judgemental to think that every Greek Cypriot wanted enosis or indeed wanted to kill every Turkish Cypriot. Lets not forget that there were also Greek Cypriots killed by there own who did not support the idealist ideas of some of the fanatics.

I am a little confused as to why it has been referenced on both this forum and the subject form that Iain should show some restraint because he is a doctor. I would rather have a truthful doctor with emotions and the strength to defend themselves when being attacked and/or threatened than a sheepish character who is so scared of his own emotional imbalance that he bows down to all and sundry to make the world a happier and shiney although false place.

I am sure that I will be corrected here but I believe Iain's job is to diagnose and treat when possible patients. I don't think it says anywhere that he must be polite to everyone he ever comes across no matter what the situation.

Well done Iain, if nothing else I now have a greater understanding of how deeply rooted the bias is in some (probably a huge minority) of GC's. Regardless of what there issues are, insulting and threatening people on a forum wil never repair the damage done, mentally or Physically.

I am an intelligent person who can easily manipulate peoples emotions to get a response....I am talking about intellectual jousting on forums etc and not with my patients.People on the other forum appear to thinks that may reflect a poor bedside manner! I can assure you ....it doesnt. Intellectual jousting is a good release from the intense pressures of my job. When I get threatened by someone who has no insight into who or what I am, I will respond in kind....though not to the extent of the ill-educated, foul-mouthed,physically threatening members(certain ones....not all!) on the other forum.Yes .....I did have mischief in mind,but nothing like what was coming back my way.People like that really need to grow up !

I don't want to say that I don't care about the past history of Cyprus north or south but I am more caring of the future and how it may concern me.



Some of the individuals on that forum are just bloody minded biggots who believe they have gained some sort of supremecy over another by insulting them purely because they have a different opinion.



The irony for me stands in the fact that I came to this Forum to hopefully gain some valuable information on North Cyprus which I have done for the most part, had some dissagreements along the way strangely enough with both DC's (didn't work that one out till today that they have the same initials) but have decided to move myself and my family to what will hopefully be a happy home for the future.

If however I had decided to use the other forum to gain information on the South of Cyprus I can assure you that I would not feel safe

The so called well respected person that fire starter refers to is insulting everyone and he is joined along the way by others. I have seen personal grudges on this forum that detract from the point of the thread and have found them amusing for the most part but this guy claims he has friends of many nations but blames the Turks, Brits, Ottomans, US and anyone else he can think of but the supposed attrocities that caused the Turkish army to intervene are quietly ignored. The use of political documentation to justify that this was illegal is just rediculous.

Would he also claim that when the americans joined the allied forces in WWII it was illegal because they were not officially at war with the germans so it had nothing to do with them. The intervension in some african nations, Bosnia to stop the horrid war crimes that were ongoing. Essentially the Turks went into Cuprus to protest the peoples of there heritage and did not invade and conquer the island but stopped !!

Clarets, I am fully confident that your bedside manner would be exemplary, as you stated in the previous comment you need to vent sometimes. I can concur with that and sometimes, probably too often use sarcasm to do just that, it is not always understood but I have never had to accept such a barage of insults due to my own opinion being different from anothers, best wishes to you and your family and I hope we can sit down some time and enjoy a tipple and some banter, I like talking to truly educated people, they see through my sarcasm and either laugh or tell me it was innapropriate but never threaten to destroy me and mine. That is what sensible people do.

From 1963 to 1974, apparently, the majority of GC’s hid behind their doors and squealed in anguish at what was happening to their TC brothers. Unfortunately, if they had got out on the streets and protested they might have been of some use.

It only took a minority, unrestrained, to cause the harm. I can see the exact thing happening again, with the vitriol coming from some in the south. Two states are the only answer.

previous owner of the land(IF that IS the case....AND proven). It would raise my profile significantly in Cyprus....but not necessarily in the UK.....and not at all in my profession or with the GMC. Most of my colleagues already know about it and have no axe to grind.You mentioned "property" of displaced Cypriot.....there has NEVER been a property on the LAND before the villa was built,so technically NOBODY has been displaced. As I said before ,I am happy to compensate IF any is due,but we wont be paying above the going rate for the scrub land in that area......the "previous owner"....didnt have planning permission did he/she, and how much is the current value of 650m square of scrub land in TRNC well away from Girne? Having asked you several times to give evidence of any Greek Cypriot land in the north being "legally exchanged" you have refused to provide any evidence of any such exchange but instead question my "education".

For the record, I don't want you as an enemy as much as I don't want anyone for an enemy but that has nothing to do with threats, that is my personal opinion of being friends or just being nonchellant is much easier.

My life is an open book that should anyone be so bored as to need to read about it I will put it down for them on paper.

I agree that if someone chooses to keep anonymous that should be a respected choice however you can't do exactly the same thing and expect to mount an adequate defence with but it has been done to me.

And another point, you have just written and had recorded unless you request it to be removed a statement that if anyone does anything to you they should be warned, a little vague and god forbid anything does happen to someone who has messed with you but it wouldn't look good !!!

when you have been on this forum a while you will see who ever you are, everyone wants a peice of you.

i have watched them pick off people one by one. i have watched them do it to friend after friend.

i even have friends and customers who won't post here just because everything they post is brought down with this behaviour. its unfair and not needed, it is of no benefit to anyone other than the poster, scoring points against someone they don't like. fair debate is what its about, not point scoring.

maybe i worded it wrong and should have said, what goes around comes around , but what gives these people the right? are they better than me? more educated than me? richer than me?

my tc neightbour once said' clothes don't maketh a man" he was right.

Nothing gives people this right but I still maintain that you can not criticise them for it and do the very same thing in revenge.

I, very much like Clarets can and if nescessary will use whatever means nescessary to protect myself and my family but I don't threaten people, it's a waste of time, if I am going to do something about it I will and rest assured it won't involve a keyboard.

This thread started because Clarets was bemused by the comments made on the other Forum about his opinions and low and behold now at nearly 100 messages he is being questioned about his property and has been previously advised by yourself to leave it alone.

By the way the Forum isn't affected much by this, peoples feelings get hurt and they choose to avoid it, the resentment will still be there you just don't have to face it.

As for the reaction you have got from some Greek Cypriots it is predictable.



The land issue in the north is a very thorny one to say the least it would be interesting to know what type of response you thought you would have got from some Greek Cypriots.
