We seem to be having quite a few power cuts now, not always that long, but a powercut anyway. How did you all spend the time? I personally was in the pool with the family. I was glad it was during the day and not the evening, lets hope there isnt another later.

We have had non stop power cuts in Girne, one of them was for 4 hours during the night which was awful, but yesterday it went off at 11am and came back at 3pm they are getting worse, either jump in the hot pool, or go for a drive with the a/c on which was better. sheila

Comes with the turf I'm afraid. Didn't you read the fine print on the contracts? Having been without electric for 4 months, a mere 3 hour dropout is a luxury.

try living in Guzelyurt. We regularly get 6 hour or more power cuts. Not enough tourists to matter I guess.

There seems no other solution than to invite the Yanks to site a large military base here in exchange for implementing and paying for some civilised infrastructure - starting with the water and electric pipeline(s) from Turkey that there's been such a 'hoo-haa' about for so long, but nothing ever done.

You must all be dreaming.....The TRNC Finance Minister has promised no further cuts in electricity. He said this in 2007, 2008 and 2009. LOL
