Good luck to the Unions who are out to protect the jobsworth members who have spent years blagging overtime causing a headache for TRNC government and Turkey. There is an enormous difference between pilfering and perk and stealing from the state through claims for overtime that were in the majority of cases blatant fabrications is illegal even under the employees employment contract. Good luck to the Prime Minister and Finance Minister in trying to clear up this fraudulent mess. Maybe future employment adverts for the Government and it's agency will state a prerequisite of KKTC Vatandah Degil or istemez. The Unions must realise that it's employer the TRNC citizens have an understanding that whether te union members strike or not the amount work input is the same. It is the Union members short term vision of making enough money to screw the Government that has bought this issue into the limelight. Think long term and protect your childrens future employment opportunities

Isn't this part of the mindset that runs in the TRNC? Screw the expats/tourists in the short term as there is no such thing as the long term.

I can only speak as I find and over here on the Famagusta Bogaz strip I have never, or at least very rarely, met a nicer bunch of people, both Turkish Cypriot and those from distant lands. Would that all people were as nice and helpful as the North Cypriots are to those enjoying their hospitality and friendliness.
