Where is the best place to get a mobile phone de chipped in Girne, or are all the mobile shops similar?

If you mean 'unlocked' - or made 'sim-free' then I believe that the 'phone shop next to the parking area opposite HSBC can do most makes and models.

Now if only I could remember the name of it...!

Vast majority of the phone shops will unlock your mobile. Cost is normally 20TL.

Hi Richard ..

Opposite to the money exchange shop on the left going down the high st in Girne, is a small entry which leads to the enclosed car park .. On the right hand side of this entry is a shop who can unblock any phone .. I have a Sony Ericsson which was locked to Vodaphone & after trying several shops with no luck, he unlocked it ..

Hi, I recently went around most of the shops and the prices quoted ranged between 20-30YTL, the cheapest was just up the ally opposite the place where we pay our Electricity Bills. Very friendly & quick, did it in half an hour.

Thanks all for your help, got it done opposite back entrance to Bandabulia, 30tl. Tried a couple of shops but could not unlock Orange!!
