when I did my residency last year for the first time the original 'sale of contract' I never recieved it back. Is this correct?

Why did you give them the original? I believe a copy would suffice. However, you should get everything back...

This is definitely not right. You should go to Lefkosa and ask them for the original back. Take a copy for them if you have one.

I presumed this was the norm but I am now due to do my 2nd year residency and was wondering about the original contracts..will they ask to see them? I wonder if the originals are at Nicosia and should have been given back to me when I picked up my residency!!

Copies of contracts and bank statements are fine. You do not get them back. My wife and I have just completed our fifth residency and we wonder what the hell they want 10 copies of our contract for. We think that they keep the Dikmen dump fire going with them!
