Having bought an Armacon Villa with all the atttched quality problems. I have to replace the front door. It is actally an interior quality door made of very cheap wood, stained to look like mahogany it was showing daylight through it when it was fitted by Armacons plumbers. Been on the snbagging list ever since. Armacon 5 ear guarantee means you won't see us for at least 5 years. The question is , is an aluminium door going to function in this heat? Wood is OK but maintaining a wood door isa bind. Any suggestions?

Aluminium functions fine in this heat, no need to worry on that score. Denizalp have a good selection and are very reasonably priced.

We have a beautiful wooden door but having only been in situ for 8 months we have already had to have it re stained as it has shrunk and swollen in the weather and every day we are now opening the front doors to try and keep the main sun off them in order to preserve the stain. If you have wood, which looks great it has to be either a) treated or b) you must have some sort of porch area to help protect it.

Def' metal doors every time, wood must be a nightmare. Although even the paint on metal doors fades quickly if exposed to the sun but regular application twice a year or so with a good UV car wax polish will keep it looking good.

What about intruder resistance? In the UK we have heavy duty UPVC with bolts coming out of the sides making kicking in almost impossible. Are these available in tRNC? We too have interior doors stained brown courtesy of Evergreen which look awful and are certainly not secure enough.
