RE msg 4, burty1987: (...) I estimate 12 years, the bad thing is, he might not even serve 5! (...) => BurtyBoy! You've got the judicial system in the UK you voted for, because you voted the politicians in. If it's not to your liking you (AND MANY OTHERS) should have voted for a different government. It's called democracy...

DC; The judicial system in the UK is the worlds finest, it is the result of a thousand years of fine tuning and has formed the basis of many legal systems worldwide. In all these systems the judiciary is free (in theory) from governmental interference. The only thing that brings it down is unfortunately governmental compliance with the wonderful EU and it's insistence on so called "human rights" This is the same EU that gave the world Napoleonic law wherebye you are automatically presumed guilty and have to prove otherwise, as opposed to English common law where you are presumed innocent and the state has to make its case. I apologise for any grammatical errors.

RE msg 7, newscoop: (...) The judicial system in the UK is the worlds finest, it is the result of a thousand years of fine tuning (...) => What an interesting version of history! Can you be more precise about the year or date? RE msg 7, newscoop: (...) This is the same EU that gave the world Napoleonic law wherebye you are automatically presumed guilty and have to prove otherwise, (...) => B*ll, utter b*ll. Name one country in the EU where someone is "automatically presumed guilty and have to prove otherwise". RE msg 7, newscoop: (...) I apologise for any grammatical errors. (...) => Don't worry. This time I only found some punctuation errors and one spelling error. Keep trying and improve.

DC; Difficult to be precise on something that took seed many moons ago but try around the eighth century. Then think of the Normans (1066) following on to one of the Henry's. (second?) It is not codified but continually evolving. Countries that use Napoleonic law; France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Mexico and any or all of their ex-colonies, add in Quebec and Louisiana, and lets not forget the LOW COUNTRIES. I feel sure you know who they are. Once a person is charged by the investigating magistrate, that unfortunate soul is indeed presumed guilty and therefore has to prove his innocence, but then you knew that didn't you?

prisoners in England will serve 2/3's of their sentence if it over 4 years and 1/2 if it less than four years. So if Robb gets 12 years which sadly I doubt he will he will serve 8 years

Isn't Holme House the prison where the 'canoe man' ( the guy who disappeared leaving his canoe on the beach only to reappear having spent the time he was missing with his wife in Panama) has just done a publishing deal with another con man who was visiting him as his lawyer- the authorities forgot to check out the'lawyers' credentials which just happened to be false! You couldn't make it up!

DC, RE.:=> Don't worry. This time I only found some punctuation errors and one spelling error. Keep trying and improve. That would be "the worlds finest" instead of "the world's finest", "the wonderful EU and it's insistence" instead of "the wonderful EU and its insistence", and "Napoleonic law wherebye you are" instead of "Napoleonic law whereby you are" then... You need to get out more. In fact I think that I need to get out more... I'll just go get my coat I'll see you at Lilli's - oh no I won't, it's Tuesday! Your place or mine? (I'd prefer mine, 'cos I can get p****d, and not worry about driving!) Keith.

DutchCrusader, newscoop is right apart from one thing. He should have used the past tense. 13 years of mismanagement and social engineering by Blair and Brown have resulted in a justice system that is no longer the envy of the world. The only good thing is that they have not made marijuana taking legal as in the Netherlands. Hoping my English is up to your high standard. lol. Gary

Funny thing; I asked DC some questions about Dutch football (his thread) and he vanished into the proverbial thin air. Now this, is he losing his touch? or is his typing finger stuck in a dyke? (no crudities please) sorry for any grammatical errors but then again who gives a ****
