| ) Smithy to SKYPE ALL numbers are international.. it doesn't matter WHERE you are - the call rates don't change.. So if you are in the UK - and it is evening - it is cheaper to use the normal phone ! ..I can't say, but I'm guessing it's the same for "TRNC" Certainly, if in the "rump" RoC - much cheaper to use local telcos than SKYPE to send sms ( txt) or to call locally A tip - store all number in format +44, +90 and you can import / export numbers/ contacts to and from your mobile phone. I'm guessing it's probably cheaper to send sms(txt) when in "TRNC" to a UK mobile via SKYPE ? .. Anyone know ? .. It's certainly easier to send 'em from a keyboard |

| I agree entirely with Ismet AND mmmmmm (must be a first for that combination ) I typed the numbers in small groups, and avoided any sort of explanation so as not to confuse / overwhelm smithy... Actually, if you just select Turkey OR the Turkish flag from the country 'drop down', you can type in the entire phone number - 0533 xxxx or 0392 xxxx etc. - including the leading zeros AND gaps between number groups. Skype seems to be 'clever' enough to unravel it. One other point that might be of interest: You can set Skype so that it sends your 'caller ID' - that is, if you ring or text a mobile (or a landline equipped with caller ID) it will show a phone number of your choosing. I set mine so that it sends my Turkcell mobile number. Of course if the other person rings back, or replies to the text, it goes straight to my mobile, NOT the computer. - To do THAT, you have to purchase a SKYPE-IN number, and set up call-forwarding - a whole different ball game... This Technology, eh? |
