moving to Kyrenia to live and work advice required

Hi:



We are due to move over to North Cyprus. we will be looking at renting first before buying. Does any one have some good advice to get us going... we are interseted in, cost of living, working, becoming a resident etc.. also opening a bank account and schools.

Hi windygale....if you use the search box at the top of each page and just type in key words such as "jobs" , "residency" , "bank accounts" etc you will open up a mine of useful information from previous posts.

you would be well advised to try and find a job before making the majour move unless you are in full funds to last and or creat your own buisness . with winter on the way and laws changing work will be hard to find . there are jobs at the minium wage of £400 a month 6/7 days a week 8 /10 hours a day not recomended . try and do some ground work first if i were you

Have enough money to support yourself for a given time to see if you like it here, if you can get a job consider it a bonus.

my advice is that you if you cannot afford to live here without working, then do not bother!! There are so many hoops to negotiate to work legally and if you work illegally then be prepared to take the consequences

There is nothing stopping you from travelling to the south to work and living in the north. Lots of prople do this every day. I see you are working in a managerial position, I would think your chances of finding work in South Nicosia would be a lot higher.
