re msg 1 Lapta.tel

You can get BBC/ ITV via a 4.2 m dish as NN says, but THE best engineer on Island - and possibly in the Eastern Med- and a guy that actually imports the dishes direct, is Iceman - he can arrange the box and subscription, too - but if you have a subscription keep it up.

Get quotes from them all and be sure to check their English and how long they've been doing it ;)

YES, you can watch it via a PC but it simply isn't the same ..

mess 5 - depends who you use, circa £2,000 - £2,500

Make sure you keep your subscrition going in the UK as cards over here have to be paid 1 year up front, plus £100 above the actual charge Sky make...

Hi Rigsby

Do you have a WHITE SKY card, yet? If a Dealer has set you up with SKY in the UK - then someone will ask for a fee to replace it AND probably an annual fee.

If you change your payment details ( say a new card) WHO will do this?

Best thing to do is to get the dish set up, and buy a sky satelite box but dont take up the subscription, as you can receive BBC1,2,3 and all the freeview channels from a sky box without any subscription anyway.

Dear Canyavuz

re msg 9

A little caveat..

Without a current SKY card or FREESAT card you wont get any Channel Fives or SKY 3

You CAN buy a FREESAT ( non SKY ) receiver and some have recording capability...THE most important feature - if you LIVE in Cyprus.... as you can watch last nights TV the next evening.. reason being:

1/ When one is ready to sit down early in the evening - it's still Kids TV in the afternoon :(

2/ You fall asleep as something starting at 10.30 is 00.30 :(

Zerochlor

Have tried Filmon.com but with my 1mb connection was only able to watch the channels on the low resolution setting. Not bad but hardly HD quality - can only assume that you have higher download speed ???

Regards

Paul

re msg 13

Zerochlor..

EVEN with a "high res qual" download you are NEVER going to get SD - let alone HD quality.. why suggest otherwise.. I offer VPNs to get UK TV feeds and I know I'd rather watch via Sat if I can..

re 12 Rigsby

You be "careful".. I think as you mention "cards" you might be using a multiroom subscription..?

re 11 NN

MY wonderful Wifey is just fine, thx... I'm frightened to ask about yours .. (
