There are loads of DVD shops. I think you'd struggle to make a living Nick.

Think we probably need a scrapyard, more than anything followed closely by a sewage plant.

Advising the civil servants how to deal with their upcoming dismissals.

Seriously, a good Thai/Vietnamese restaurant would be a good bet.

A company that would do a good job of snagging/builders clean(s), etc.

Also, a company that could emply locals (possibly ex-civil servants) to sort out some problems Brits face, especially those without TC friends, or those that do not want to impose upon their friendship. Only payment on solution!

Finally, a company that could supply and run a desalination plant, a power station and a 20Mb Internet connection! Basic requirement: Must be able to run 24 hours per day, with no trade union involvement

Best of luck.

Regards

PC

DVD Rental - download and record episodes of ALL the soaps, series, etc. and rent 'em out for 50Kr a night - a lot of people don't want to be bothered connecting a pc to the TV, or subscribing to an iffy satellite service, whereas popping a DVD in the machine to watch their 3 favourite soaps within a few days of broadcast would be fine. And no bother dropping off the DVD and picking the next one up when you go to the market for bread etc...

You could either build up an archive of all the soaps, or use re-recordable DVDs, and just keep the previous month 'in stock'.

Some decent wine, a really nice wine shop that can sell cheeses as well. I,ve lost count the amount of times that I could have died for a decent savagnion blanc......have to sneek some over from the darkside occassionally.

msg 11,

I am led to believe that there is a 'proper' wine shop next to Supreme supermarket, up Çatalköy way -it's long way from Lapta, I know, so you'd better stock up!

msg 21,

A restaurant WITH animals roaming around inside, so that you can pick the one that you want, like you do with lobsters.

Should increase the number of vegetarians around

p.s. remember 'The Restaurant at the end of the Universe?'

Hi Woodspeckie,

I was going to open a tea room with homemade cakes and scones with strawberrry jam and cream oozing out. Apple pies and lemon meranguei tart etc. Chocolate cake that melts in your mouth. Steak & kidney pies, plus cornbeef & onion slices. Tommy was going to help me do this, do you remember Tommy? Anyone know where he is?

I know! How about a legal firm that actually does what the client legally wants? One that knows it owes a duty of care, that tells the truth, actually acts & represents the best interests of their clients. Gives good advice and has indemnity insurance? That clearly lays out it's reasonable charges and doesn't just pluck out an up front fees figure in £1000 chunks? That has a regulatory dicsipline authority that could investigate a complaint against it. A firm that would campaign for better, fairer & clearer laws? Utopia I know..

I'd certainly be a very regular customer at the Butler's wife's shop.

Speaking of Tommy - someone asked about him on here a while ago. Does ANYONE know what happened to him - seriously, I mean.

I think Keith Caley posted on here at the time that he was off stopping world poverty, advising Barack Obama, etc. but surely he must have finished that by now?

Hi all,

As I live at Esentepe, I was thinking of opening my tea shop east of Kyrenia, where do you think would be a good place and would you visit?

The Butlers Wife. Make sure you open your tea shop near to where Missus Monger lives. She'll be in every day for her daily 'fix' of cream and scones )
