| http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8219344.stm The UK's net contribution to the European Union will rise by almost 60% next year, the Treasury has said. The cost of membership will rise to £6.4bn - equivalent to about £260 per UK household - from £4.1bn in 2009/10. The Treasury said it was right for the UK "to share the burden of membership with new accession countries". But the Tories say the rising bill is evidence of "Labour's incompetence" in the midst of a recession. In 2004, the figure was £53 per household. |

| No1doyen, just goes to show what a lot of buffoons we have trying to run the country. An instance that just had me speachless (and thats something!) was in our village we had - a dust cart, with three men, a recycle van for bottles, three men, and another van collecting paper, three men in, all half empty, all going around at the same time. This equalls 9 men for a very small village which it then shoves over to Brazil and back again.!! Good old Labour, its become like NC here, 9 men when the job is for two.....We have gone backwards instead of forwards!!! |
