Hello, we are newbees to the board.

We would like to know if any of our neighbours are on the board?

The Paradise Villas site in Bacheli has 16 properties.

We are waiting for completion of our Villa and will be travelling back in May.

I have made visits to this site and would like to contact any other buyers at paradise village,I purchased my property in 2006 and have been promised on various occasions that it will be ready, I am sorry to sound pesimistic but I have a feeling that all is not well with this building company .

perhaps someone can shed some light on the delays and why has the first site at Essentepe still not have kitchens or electric.

I think there is more chance of Lord Nelson getting down of his column,sorry to be so negative but I have heard so many promises as to when things will be completed that I tend to think that they and pinnochio have something in common,I was promised completion for August 2007.

However I hope I am wrong,and kitchens have been fitted,I purchased our own kitchen and they cannot find a plumber to fit in the sink ,so I have decided to finish it myself.

We are new to the site and were very interested to note others comments Re: Paradise Villas. We ourselves purchased our property back in 2006 and still awaiting completion and becoming very frustrated with lack of communication and the costs involved in having to keep on going out to chase up on the build and site. We have just returned and I think the builder, Can, mentioned he had sold another villa and bungalow leaving just one of each to sell; in which case I think you must be either number 13 or 15, either side of us?

Are you a family or just you and your wife?



I am sure you'll agree I think the location is second to none, just 20 minutes from Kyrenia in a stunning location. We are looking forward to completion.

We are out again in November sorting furniture and curtains etc.

Hi Robert,Janjin, sorry bit slow to reply

O.K so we returned mid sept after meeting builder. Can assured us now that his company + workforce are all registered to expect things to move along quickly after the religious holiday at the end of sept.

He intends concentrating solely on our site to completion before moving machinery etc to other sites.



From early Oct he assured us kitchens would be put in at an average of 1or 2 a week, inside electrics completed eg air cons etc, while pool surrounds and pool electrics will be installed. All villa landscaping + access roads to be done + most of the final fittings eg bathroom etc installed.



I know some say they've heard all this before but I think Can is honestly trying to get all of us to that happy stage of handover. I myself had booked flights for this November earlier in the year expecting to be staying in our villa. Rather than lose flights we're still going + hopefully will give a welcome update on return late November.

Joseph missed your post by 1 hour before going out to Cyprus, I didn't get your last post.

We have returned and yes we were upset there was only small progresses.

We met Can and he belives all is about to restart after political red tape.

I also believe Can is trying his upmost to complete. He has always discussed our concerns and met with us as often as possible.

I can't wait to have our first party in the Villa and Can will be our special guest along with our estate agent.

The prices for extras has risen alarmingly (local builders are wincing at the increases), we are happy we bought when we did.

The exchange rate for the Lira 2.585 in the high street was still rising - take English money out Joseph.

I think you may have more to report when you come back in November.

We are just in the middle of negotiating to buy one of the bungalows on this site. However, we noticed that from our first visit in April to our 2nd in September that no progress had been made. The estate agent told us it was because the developer was concentrating on finishing his other site in Esentepe - seemed a reasonable explanation.



But I have been told by a reliable source that this is NOT the case. There are no workers at Esentepe and the site is now 18 months over due.



We really loved the bungalow but with all the bad press are very relunctant to go further. I appreciate the others on this posting have bought but would like to know if they've yet encourtered problems?



We are buying with my parents who want to spend time there during the winter and the site would be perfect for them, i.e. quiet! And my husband would use it for the golf.

We have bought on this site.

We have just come back and spoke with the builder about the delays and he is confident that the site will soon be finished. He showed us some documents in regard to Electrics which we found reassuring.

We have always been able to contact Can when were out on holiday or at home. He has always met with us to discuss plans and progress.

I do realise that you are making a big decision and I don't want you feel I'm misleading you.

I can only answer from my own experience and how I interpreted Can reactions to our questions.

The builder told us when we met that everything would be finished by January 2009. We might wait until then as we're planning a trip out there after Christmas.

This is a late posting as I've been at a meeting.

No 15 is sold RA. Look back to message 22 - niceplace - on this page.

Why don't you email Can and ask if theres any workers back at the site?

He maybe able to send you a picture to varify a restart?

You could then compare progress?

Have you also found the other better access road to the site? It is the next turning off and brings you across the front and up to the builders sheds end of the site. I'm sooo glad we don't have to use that crazy blind bend.



We have just returned and the weather was fab, hot days cool evenings, don't you just love Cyprus?

We hope your successful with your new place- were ever you place your roots.

It was my parents who went in september and must have made a mistake about no. 15 - it was no. 13 they wanted.

We love North Cyprus - it's so unspoilt and the locals very friendly. Plus there's no horrible bars and clubs catering for the UK lager louts!

I have plot 14 which sits in the middle of the two bungalows you say you were looking at. I am pretty sure plot 15 was sold when we visited Cyprus in May and this was confirmed to us by the builder when we were out in September.

Just to say that we have today received a progress report from our agents in N Cyprus stating that there has still been no progress on the site. Trench work for the utility supply has been dug and has been the same for some time. They also state that there has been no progress to the villas on site either internally or externally. However, the developer is still saying that completion will be early next year.....Time will tell.......

asking to solve the cashflow problem can we send over 1,000 plus 2,000

out of our final payment 3,000 in total to connect the electrics up

they believe Can will finish the job but needs enough money up front

to do it

Mr&Mrs prichard have been over there for 5 weeks

If it is any consolation I know Chris and Sandra Pritchard and while they were out here for their 5 weeks (renting my neighbours villa) they also allowed me to be privy to a site meeting between them and Can. Chris is a business person and has his head screwed on right and I believe Can is also an honest person. There is no doubt that Can is stretched not only financially but also labour wise. When he receives outstanding payments from his other sites then I am sure he will finish your site. Incidentally the Villas and Bungalows look really good and I am sure that getting electricity laid on will be a catalyst for Can to finish off the rest of the work.

Just my humble opinion.

I did some research for Chris and Sandra and provided them with e-mail addresses that were in the public domain of at least half of the purchasers on your site and your e-mail address was included. What I will do is e-mail Chris's email address to your e-mail address that you have posted under your profile on this board so that you can contact him directly. I think it is important that all 17/18 property owners get to know each other and agree to a common plan for completion of outstanding works. If you are not all in unison then it could drag on for a long time.

Hi Everyone.



I have started a new thread re questions being raised above. Some know and some don't about the current situation so I think it wise to keep this thread solely for this. New thread: Paradise Villas Bahceli substation.



Myself (no14) and Chris (no4) will try to co ordinate everyone's email address and phone numbers to allow us to act in unison and keep this thread positive.

Chris and I had separately discussed this matter with our builder when out in Cyprus recently and yesterday spoke to each other by phone.



I spoke to Can/John this morning, he was honest and forthright. First thing to say is DO NOT WORRY and allay any fears you have, what we are discussing is positive and will help bring r site to completion. Can/John will be sending emails to all buyers shortly to explain the situation and actions he wants to take.



Meanwhile please co ordinate with myself or Chris re any questions and with an exchange of phone numbers and email adds.

It seems at long last that the site will be completed in the not to distant future,

and I will be going out to Cyprus after the 19th Jan 2009,should anybody be out on site around that time I will be delighted to meet up with them.my e_mail is roy_ashton@sky.com My only concern with sending Can money at this time without a date for the tranformer to be delivered and connected is that the monies will be diverted to Cakalkoy site ,please let us make sure that it is ring fenced and only for the electrical installation.

Good Morning eveyone - Only recently directed to this site by a UK neighbour who has bought a property on the Essentepe site-

Myself and my wife (Graham and Tracy) have bought villa number two - We signed in September 2006 and are as equally frustrated as everyone else.

We would appreciate any tips / guidance / updates on our property by anyone thats seen it recently.

Looking forward to having a few drinks on my terrace and getting to know the neighbours !

Hi Graham and Tracy. Like yourself. We purchased in 2006 and are very much looking forward to completion of both the development and our villa.We hope to revisit in April but i am sure many others will visit prior to this and forward any updates to yourselves.

Hi All,

I have collated most of the dates of those going over to N/C from our site. So far I have 7/8 dates from various neighbours. Any one wanting to meet up or ring others going at the same time just give me a bell and I can connect you up. Also for anyone else who intends going, again please let me know ...off site obviously... and it can be added to the diary of visits ?
