What Dell model do you have ? If the laptop does not have a firewire port on it already then you can add one via the laptops carbus slot (if it has one of these) Something like this would do it. http://tinyurl.com/n97bvq Or if it is a one off you could come round to my house and plug it into my desktop machine that does have a firewire port on it and then we could transfer the movie as a file to your laptop.

RE msg 1, GBJohn: My Mac has two FireWire ports (400 and 800), but I needed one more for an external CD/DVD writer. I bought a "Best Connectivity" FireWire card (ca 12 Euro in Holland) which works perfect. It slips into a cardbus slot. If you can't find one here (erolz from msg 2 may know where to look) you can certainly find a card in the UK or order one in Holland (let me know if you need help in obtaining one). Good luck!

Hi GBJohn The simplest fix for your problem is to buy a USB hub that has a Firewire port on it. These are available here quite cheaply. This a small box that plugs into your USB port and will give you 3x USB ports and 1 Firewire 400 port. Hope this helps. Dan (PC-Clinic) 0533 885 7467

Hi GB Sunloverk solution would work, provided the hub conects to the laptop via usb (and not firewire) - just not familure with such combo hubs You should also be able to get firewire only card that will got into your laptop as well the issue is sorting out exactly what slot your laptop has. The model number you gave is I think for your battery not the laptop itself. In all probablility your laptop has a 34 mm ExpressCard slot but without the actual model number I can not say for sure. So two options - combo usb / firewire hub (just make sure the connection between hub to the PC is usb) Or Firewire expresscard
