Okay, I know this is a very contentious question and everyone will have their favourites but am hoping to narrow down to one or two. Anyway, we are staying in Catalkoy from 12th Sep onwards and we will get to our villa around 6pm. Where would you guys suggest we go for our first dinner that evening bearing in mind that I guess we will want to stay reasonably local. All we ask is that as its our first night we have a fair chance of not being disappointed?

Many thanks

Hi teejaybee,

1st night,

Must be Shayna Beach Club,

Sit there by the sea and watch the sun set

Food is very good and staff to match.

Been there quite a few times,

never any complaints

Can't do better for a 1st night meal,

and close to you, 5 mins in car/taxi, max !

Live music some nights too.

Open late too

Good Luck,

Navek

Personally I'd choose Erols In Ozankoy. It's simply the best. Be sure to book though.

I only ever ring Erols to book a table and do not know whether they have an email address.

Closed on Sundays. The best time to ring is in the evening probably about 7ish (local time) before they get too busy.

I have been trying to call Erols from the UK on 903928159136, it's ringing but no reply. Have I the right number and are they only open certain nights? Thanks.

If you are staying in Catalkoy and you happen to like fish - try Ani's Restaurant. They only do fish but it is excellent, with fish mezes also to start. Unfortunately you won't be able to try their speciality - fish in salt - as that has to be ordered the day before.

Or, if you like Indian food you could try The Courtyard, or The Grove. I guess it depends what kind of food you prefer really.

teejaybee

I always use 03928159136 to book Errols, but I have a mobile number 05338607016 (not sure if this is Errol's mobile or Caroline's. I am going on Saturday and would be pleased to book for you if you let me have the details (ie date, time, number of people and your name).

Hi Karanfil

That would be really nice if you could book us a table for saturday 12th at around 8.15pm for 5 people?

The name is Baker.

Thank you so much, could you just let me know?

Thanks to everyone else for the help and suggestions, looking forward to coming back to TRNC after a 7 year absence!

Hi teejaybee

We went to Errols last night and had a lovely meal as always. I booked your table for 5 people at 8.15 on Saturday 12th. Caroline makes moussakka on Saturdays and I can thoroughly recommend it.

I hope you enjoy your meal and your holiday. I am sure you will see a lot of changes when you get here especially the increase in the volume of traffic. It is still a lovely place though and I wouldn't live anywhere else!

Erol's is one of our favourite restaurants in N Cyprus and we make sure that we go at least once every time we holiday there (3 times a year).

Not cheap - but very cheerful - and a fabulously fun and relaxed atmosphere!
