i have read the info about digital supreme and dopi and still cannot decide which to go for. can anyone recommend which one is best please. Have heard people have lost bbcprime with dopi, is it back on now? and is this a regular thing with dopi, loosing stations? any info woul be great. also which tv package freezes a lot when you are watching a programme.

Cant comment on supreme but dopi is ok 70% of the time. But if you can, get a 4.2m dish, sounds a bit exspensive but its money well spent because when dopi does go down you'll wish you had.

Better than sat home looking at "this channel is scrambled" and thinking your paying for nothing.

Vee you may have opened a can of worms here, Dopi has had alot of problems lately, but in my humble opinion is the best system, when the new updates arrive shortly it will be back to normal again, and the bbc prime is now on.

I agree that dopi do keep there customers informed by sms when they have problems but it will never be 100%.

If you can, get a big dish and be done with it. Its the only sure way for trouble free sat-tv.

Im not knocking dopi but wont be renewing next year because i have the space for a big dish, if you dont then you have no other choice.

Over to you mmmmmm....

I have no problem with pirated software and films/music. A lot of multi-national companies are using our software illegally. (Rolls Royce Engineering, Boeing, Shell, BP, Total Fina Elf are a few) If they can get away with it then why not Joe Blogg on the street?

I have just got digital supreme installed at my house, so far i have found there service very good, and quite understanding as to what i was looking for, i took there motorised dish option, which is a little more expensive but living in Karmi there are lots of rules about dish sizes etc so it seems the best way to get more sats linked up, and i understand that they will be coming back to add more satelites once i have got to hang of it. i got loads of channels in english i would recomend them

Digital Supreme great system had it for 18mths, yes early problems, but soon sorted. Good response time whenever problems have occurred, I use them for both tv and internet. After listening to previous complaints about extend/nethouse etc I chose DS.

Biggest problem I find with Dopi is lack of a programme guide. If you're channel surfing and come across a film, you never know if there's 10 minutes gone or 10 minutes left.

Japeal. We use DS for television at the moment as we already had Bortec. However, we are shortly moving and will have to pay them both for moving our equipment. Is DS internet ok.? As you know the television is run from the wireless internet and when Bortec is slow or down we have no t.v. Do you have the same problems? If not, I might consider forgoing the three months I have already paid Bortec and go over to DS.

Any feedback would be welcome.

The working solution in my house: cable or ADSL connection in Holland (in your own, friends or relatives house) + legal subscription to (choice of program packages) -> Slingbox in Holland -> Internet -> computer with free Slingplayer software in TRNC (optional: Slingcatcher -> TV set).

Can be done in the UK also. Easy, cheap and reliable.

halffull- Digital Supreme is on the main road at Alsancak. Coming from Girne it is on your left just before the Merit Hotel sign. It`s on the end of a parade of shops which also has Eton Laundry the other end.

you dont need to have wirless internet, ADSL will work it and maybe if you have a 3g router that may work as well

We changed from Digital Supreme to Dopi earlier this year having had a very unreliable reception for 12 months despite their best efforts to put it right. Either system is a compromise, I guess, and I cannot judge whether DS has now got its act together. Dopi had its problems for a few weeks recently but now seems to be pretty good and we will be sticking with them although have to agree the programmre guide is a nightmare.

They are all card sharing legit subscription cards, and the technology to 'sniff' the ( un-scrambling) data illegally sent via the internet WILL sooner ( or later) stop card sharing.

DO NOT pay yearly in advance for such services.. they simply CANNOT guarantee contined service, and the legit pay TV companies are going after them technologically as well as closing down the Euro-end of the system.. being in 'TRNC' is no good if the satellite / internet signal can be 'interfered' with to ensure contact stalling of (unscrambling) - to 'irritate' clients and drive them back to legit cards.. it is 'war'.. and the 'victims' will be 'punters' ..

It seems that DS will now supply subsidised SKY Multi-room receivers and offer a 'discounted' rate.. on SKY packages.. what will be the result? SKY will enforce the telephone line rule and AGAIN there will be 'tears'.

6m`s. everybody would love a nice big 4.2 dish and pay £50+ a month for sky but not everyone can afford it. Im not having a go as i know you know what your talking about when it comes to Dopi/ DS etc. but what are people supposed to do when the cost is so different? youve said in the past that you can share a dish etc, but if that option isnt available what do you do for TV? I go with dopi because the package is good for the price and i find that they do give good customer service despite recent problems and it does seem to be working ok now.

I use it for the sport, can i subscibe to showtime here by the book or is that a bit dodgy? is it like you have a UK address for sky? for the price and the risk Dopi is worth it at the moment.

>>everybody would love a nice big 4.2 dish and pay £50+ a month for sky but not everyone can afford it<<

They have the option of Nilesat, ( 1m dish) or a 1.8m dish for SKY and free channels - or paying for a legit SKY package - that won't get turned off - starting from 20GBP monthly

IF you want sport, ( that you can't get for free on a 1.8m ) then approx 600 GBP, then 125/ yr makes financial sense...

BUT

the service WON'T be around..so new clients will be blowing a years SKY subscription on a 'white elephant'.. The legit pay TV companies are going to make life VERY difficult for the clients of the card sharing pirates.

Subscribing to Showtime isn't dodgy if you have a legit card. Cyprus isn't officially covered for reasons of TV rights - but do you think the SKYs and Showtimes of this world don't realise who the dealers are? They want subscribers.

They are after closing down the companies that 'card share' - not folk paying for a legit card.

cont - if you HAVE a card sharing system - have paid the big the big chunk - of course you HAVE to say it is worth the risk...

I'm addressing the folk who can't afford to pay 500/600 GBP, only to see the system closed down / only be able to see free channels

I'm with 6m's, there is a 1.8m dish for sale inthe forsale section for £175 big enough for most of the sky channels. get yourself a sky box...£20 off ebay and the cheapest sky option is £17 plus loads of free stuff..... so for £200 or so and less than £20 you can get a guaranteed system thats all in English and will not get cut off!

Hi Yorkie58

I'm not 'Dutch' .. but YES.. but your daughter will need a fast UP speed from her UK ADSL.. this is the p'problem' with most UK networks.. we don't HAVE that .you might have to watch it isn a VERY small window...score 1 for the Dutch ;)

Hans.. I REALLY must speak to you !
