Solodog, thats the one then in the new harbour, we had a beer in the sports bar when on holiday in early August, we arrived when they had a power cut and the owner said he was in the process of taking over the cafe next door. They were a nice couple and wish them luck.

Are the running the cafe next door now?

I have never been down there in the summer, but whenever I am over in the winter I always pop down, very nice couple. The beers cheap for those who care!

Burty1987 We came across the bar just by driving down the new harbour(had not seen it for 10 years) and we went into "Back in time" bar. They had a power cut and we sat inside and the owner(really sorry but cannot remember the guys name) was telling us that the cafe next door was up for sale and he was in the process of buying and he said about the ideas and plans. I hope they do well its just a shame that the new harbour has been left to "die" it looked so good 10-11 years ago and was so surprised that nothing had been done with it. Shops empty etc. I know that does not affect the owner of the Sports Bar as he said he has found his niche both with expats and locals and does well. Lets hope the cafe also does well.

The kids use the free computer with internet access or play at the park thats just near so its great for us as a family.

Didnt realise that was what was supposed to be the new harbour!! Such a shame its not being used as a harbour because its lovely down there.

Sorry but have to make a correction to dalartokat so people do not go the wrong way. New Harbour is where all the ferries come into.

Back in Time is opposite side of town to the New Harbour, msg 4 has the correct directions.

Some of the directions that people give out here are a joke!!!

'Next to where Alice and Tom used to live'

'Just along the road from where they sell the logs'

'Its near where the old post office used to be'

Come on folks, try to give proper directions if you are recommending places, i'm sure that we all would go along and try these places if we only had some idea of where to start looking.

Sorry if I have misled anyone but when I lived there 11 years ago that part where "Back in time" bar is was referred to as the "New Harbour". Going along from the bar is a parade of shops and the corner unit 11 years ago was turned into a Cocktail Bar. In its day it was really futuristic for NC. One other unit was let as a shop selling high class China, ornaments etc. All that was along there was 2 lots of apartment blocks with a frontage that led down to the path and then onto the sea. Going back up the hill there was nothing except a curtain/fabric shop on the corner. Maybe I am getting mixed up regarding the New Harbour label.

No they dont have WiFi.

Went there last night for tea and the food was really nice, and so cheap compared to other places.

There was a pool tournament on in the Sports Bar next door and that was quite busy too.

The sport Bar next door has got loads to do and plenty of space to do it, pinball, pool, dart boards (3 I think!) computer, loads of big screen teles for the sport so for me its perfect for when the footies on because I can sit in the cafe bar next door with the girls while he is watching the footy.

And its the perfect place to watch the sun set too! lovely from down there.
