| Dearest Jachin, Easiest and safest way is to first switch off. Get a cold water steriliser tablet, as used in cold water baby bottle sterilisers, and mix with cold (or slightly warm this time of year) water. Not sure of the volume, will depend on the size of your cooler. With the 19 liter bottle removed from the top, pour this into the top of the water machine to fill the internal reservoirs and allow to soak for say an hour. Remove the steriliser as you would get water from the machine. Put on your new bottle, and flush through the first pint or so (but this is not really necessary). Continue using. Good luck, Mrs A. |

| Miltons or a weak saline solution is often recomended. Mrs A has given you a modern day "Mrs Beetons book of household managment" solution; go with it (I would drain off more than a litre rather than just a pint). The drawn off water should be fine to wash in or on the garden so not a waste. |
